Job summary

Alsys International in Leiden is seeking a Technical Lead / Engineering Lead responsible for the technical coordination of robot projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution from design to delivery.

Your experience of at least 7–10 years in mechanical engineering or robotics is crucial, along with strong communication skills in English and Dutch. The role offers significant responsibility in a growing company and competitive salary of €4,000 – €6,500 gross per month.

Salary Indication: €4,000 – €6,500 gross per month > highly dependent on experience

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As Technical Lead / Engineering Lead, you are responsible for the technical coordination of our robot projects. You work closely with engineers, build & commissioning, and management to ensure projects run smoothly from design to delivery.

You provide structure within engineering, monitor planning, and support engineers during project execution — while remaining technically hands‑on yourself. You will work on customer‑specific robot systems for laboratories worldwide. The systems combine mechanical engineering, robotics, software, and chemical automation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• You plan and coordinate engineering projects from concept to delivery
• You monitor deadlines, priorities, and engineering capacity
• You manage the project planning in detail and report to management
• You guide engineers during projects and support them in technical decisions
• You align engineering with build & commissioning
• You review technical solutions and documentation
• You liaise with sales regarding the feasibility of new projects
• You maintain contact with customers regarding technical progress and feasibility

WHAT DO WE ASK?

• You have at least 7–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, or industrial automation
• You have experience with technical project coordination or managing engineers
• You maintain oversight within multidisciplinary engineering projects
• You communicate clearly with engineers, technicians, and customers
• You see what needs to be done and take initiative independently
• Experience with custom machinery, FAT/SAT, or system integration is a plus
• Fluently in English and Dutch, German is a nice to have
