Job summary

GLI is seeking a Technical Compliance Engineer in Haarlem to provide regulatory consulting to regulators, manufacturers and engineering staff. This role involves reviewing submissions, identifying regulatory concerns, and acting as a conduit between regulators and testing labs to ensure proper compliance and testing standards.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Spanish understanding is an advantage.
  • Bachelor or higher in CS/EE/CE or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service/support to regulators and suppliers.
  • Conduct evaluations of submission files and determine regulatory concerns.
  • Handle Incoming Review / Critical modifications.
  • Perform Outgoing Reviews / Technical Evaluations.
  • Perform Issues/Bugs Evaluations.
  • Develop Certification Report Disclosures.
  • Evaluate documentation related to submissions/testing; basic product understanding.
  • Maintain current regulations and jurisdictional profiles.
  • Keep up with GLI standards and jurisdictional changes.
  • Review new verification utilities and procedures from a regulatory stance.
  • Develop/maintain internal docs, coversheets, forms and test scripts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering groups on regulatory questions.
  • Provide technical training/workshops to internal/external customers.
  • Use JIRA to track projects.
  • Support Development staff.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

The Technical Compliance Engineer provides technical consulting services to regulators, manufacturers, and Engineering staff. This position is responsible for the review and evaluation of technical matters related to gaming regulatory compliance. The team acts as a technical conduit between the regulators and laboratory testing or the “lab mechanics” that ensures tests are performed correctly, to the regulator’s satisfaction. Technical Compliance Engineers are advisors on technical gaming regulations both internally and externally.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service/support to regulators and suppliers
  • Conduct evaluations of submission files, identifying any areas of regulatory concern and provide related determinations. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Handling Incoming Review / Critical modifications

  • Evaluate documentation related to submissions/testing and demonstrate a basic level of understanding of gaming product(s)
  • Responsible for maintaining current regulations, jurisdictional profiles
  • Maintains working knowledge of common industry technical standards and minimum internal controls for assigned jurisdictions
  • Maintains familiarization with GLI Standard Series and Evolution and jurisdictional process changes
  • Perform reviews from a regulatory compliance stance on new verification utilities & procedures
  • Develop/maintain internal procedural documentation, coversheets, forms and test scripts
  • Work with the Engineering groups in various offices on regulatory technical questions and issues
  • Provide technical training and/or workshops to internal/external customers
  • Use of JIRA to keep track of current projects
  • Provide support to Development staff
  • Handle Special Projects as needed and assigned
Experience, Education, Skills, and Credentials:
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish understanding is an advantage
  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent technical backgrounds.
  • Formal training, experience, or demonstrated competency may be evaluated and considered acceptable in lieu of the educational requirements
  • Must possess good analytical skills
  • Must have great written and oral communication skills, including a passion for customer service
  • Must have the ability to quickly assess issues, find solutions, and analyze the results
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and work as part of a team
  • Must have Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
