Job summary

Suitsupply is seeking a Tech Lead to own the Shopify storefront architecture from Amsterdam. You will lead frontend engineers, define tech standards, and drive architectural decisions for a multi-market, multi-language storefront.

You bring 5+ years with React/TypeScript in Next.js, plus 2+ years in a lead role. Experience with headless commerce and Shopify Hydrogen is highly valued. The role emphasizes ownership, quality, and scalable design.

Qualifications

5+ years of production web app experience with React and TypeScript in Next.js.
2+ years as a Tech Lead with hands-on leadership.
Systems thinking: scalable component architectures and data flows.
Headless commerce experience; Shopify Hydrogen ideal; strong GraphQL and CMS integration.
Experience with monorepo-scale development and AI adoption in software engineering.

Responsibilities

Define and own the technical architecture of the storefront across markets, languages, and devices.
Lead a team of frontend engineers through architectural decisions, code reviews, pairing, and hands-on guidance.
Make technology calls and communicate trade-offs to team and stakeholders.
Balance delivery velocity with technical health and manage technical debt.
Own integration strategy from Shopify APIs to Sanity CMS and third-party systems.
Define testing strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Set and raise standards for performance, accessibility, security, and reliability.
Drive the frontend chapter and establish shared development practices.
