Job summary

Basic-Fit is seeking a Tech Lead – Data Platform to guide the Databricks environment and BI landscape. You will collaborate with a team of Data Engineers, BI Developers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to shape and execute the data roadmap, delivering scalable data solutions across the organization.

You’ll stay ahead of new Databricks and Azure features, own cross-team delivery planning, and champion data governance to ensure reliable, high-quality data for insights and decision making.

Qualifications

• You’re a hands-on technical leader with 3+ years in a tech lead or senior data platform role and a track record of delivering hands-on work.
• Deep Databricks expertise and strong knowledge of the broader Microsoft/Azure data ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of BI tooling and reporting architecture (Power BI or similar).
• Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and platform observability.

• Plan and deliver Databricks platform developments, from architecture decisions to hands-on implementation.
• Design, upgrade, and migrate BI reporting tools to meet evolving business needs.

As our Tech Lead – Data Platform, you’ll be the technical driving force behind our Databricks environment and BI landscape. You’ll work hand-in-hand with a team of 8, Data Engineers, BI Developers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, as well as the Data Platform Product Owner to shape, evolve, and execute our data roadmap. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. We want someone who is passionate about what’s next and always exploring new ways to bring data to the next level at Basic-Fit.

Your Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Databricks platform developments, from architecture decisions to hands-on implementation.

• Drive cross-platform AI agent integration to optimize how our data teams work and deliver value faster.
• Own data-related project planning with clear timelines, ensuring delivery against the agreed roadmap.
• Champion data governance and data quality standards across the platform, ensuring reliability and trust in our data.

You’re a hands‑on technical leader who gets energy from building great data platforms and seeing teams thrive as a result. You know Databricks and the Microsoft/Azure data stack deeply and you’re genuinely excited about what’s coming next. You combine strong technical judgment with the ability to plan and execute across teams.

You’ll thrive here if most of this sounds familiar:

• At least 3 years of experience in a tech lead or similar senior role within a data engineering or data platform context, with a proven track record of staying hands‑on alongside leading.
• Deep expertise in Databricks and strong knowledge of the broader Microsoft and Azure data ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of BI tools and reporting architecture (Power BI or similar).
• Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and platform observability.
• Ability to plan and coordinate cross-team projects with clear timelines and structured delivery.
• A genuine curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging data technologies and the drive to put them into practice.
• Comfortable working closely with a Product Owner, translating priorities into executable plans.

How We Work Together

The Data Platform Product Owner is responsible for stakeholder engagement, hiring decisions, and the longer‑term roadmap. Once priorities are set, you and the PO work closely together to break the roadmap down into manageable steps and drive delivery. You’ll work directly with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, being both a technical anchor and a delivery driver for the team.
