Job summary

Basic-Fit is seeking a Finance Technology Architect with a strong SAP+-centric background to shape the finance technology backbone across Europe. You will benchmark, design, and document architectures, guiding leadership through critical decisions and future-proofing data and integration strategies.

Beyond technical excellence, you will collaborate with Finance leadership and IT, drive change in a fast-paced, international environment, and contribute to scalable, automated finance processes

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a technology/solution architect in a SAP+-centric environment.
• Strong data and application integration experience.
• Solid understanding of Purchase-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and lease accounting.
• Experience across both B2C and B2B contexts (corporate and franchise).
• Strong change-management skills; able to align stakeholders in a fast-moving program.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and challenge the current finance systems landscape and benchmark against multi-country consumer businesses.
• Translate business requirements into a coherent technical direction and document start/transition/target architectures.
• Decide between SAP-native vs integration and analytics/AI solutions and drive architecture decisions.

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

Basic-Fit is Europe's largest and fastest-growing fitness operator and franchisor: 2,150+ clubs, 12 countries, and 5.8+ million members — and still growing. We're listed on Euronext Amsterdam, and we're expanding through new business model directions and new growth avenues, both organic and through acquisition. To keep scaling at this pace across Europe, our Finance function needs a best-in-class technology and data foundation. We’re going to significantly improve our Finance IT solutions.

The first 3 to 6 months will be architecture- and design-heavy: deciding which systems to invest in, how data should flow between them, and what processes to restructure. We're looking for a Finance Technology Architect to help us get this right from day one: someone who brings outside experience, strong analytical skills, and the discipline to drive decisions. You'll work closely with Finance leadership and IT/Enterprise Automation.

Assignment details:

Starting as soon as possible, for an estimated period of 4-6 months.

Your Responsibilities

Assess and challenge our current finance systems landscape. Bring an outside-in perspective: benchmark against how comparable multi-country, multi-brand consumer businesses solve similar problems. Translate business requirements, process pain points and program objectives into a coherent technical direction, balancing short-term business value with long-term architecture health. Design and document start-, transition- and target architectures, compliant with regulations and standards. Help decide between SAP-native vs. integration and analytics/AI solutions. Drive decision-making discipline — help leadership make timely, well-informed architecture decisions, balancing value with implementation risk. Support the shift towards a scalable data platform and a less Excel-dependent, more automated Finance function.

Who Are You?

You are an experienced Finance Technology Architect with a strong background in SAP-centric environments and finance transformation. You combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of finance processes, translate business needs into scalable solutions, and confidently guide stakeholders through complex architecture decisions. You thrive in fast-paced, international organizations and enjoy building future-proof finance technology landscapes.

You'll thrive here if most of this sounds familiar:

Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience as a technology/solution architect in a "SAP+" environment — SAP at the core, with a broad ecosystem of complementary platforms around it (for AP, statutory reporting, integration, workflow, data, AI).

Strong affinity with data and application integration patterns.

Strong finance process affinity — you understand Purchase-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash and lease accounting well enough to support and challenge the Finance team.

A track record spanning both B2C and B2B contexts — Basic-Fit runs a large consumer business alongside a franchise (B2B) model.

Strong change-management skills — able to align stakeholders and bring calm, credible direction to a fast-moving program.

Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
