Job summary

NTS Optel in Nijmegen seeks a Team Lead Optical Engineering / Optical Lead Engineer to build and advance our optical engineering capability. You will lead a team of optical engineers and stay closely involved technically, translating customer needs into robust optical concepts and leading system integration and verification.

You will drive development, coach engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-precision optical solutions for customer projects.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Applied Physics, Optics, Photonics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing optical systems, instruments or modules.
• Proven expertise in optical design, modelling and simulation, preferably Zemax.
• Hands-on experience with optical system integration, alignment and performance characterization.
• Experience in product development, including prototyping, verification and validation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with customers and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience leading or coaching engineers and knowledge of imaging, microscopy, laser systems, optical metrology or related high-tech fields.

You will lead, coach and develop a team of optical engineers while contributing to customer projects as the technical lead for optical systems and solutions. From translating customer requirements into optical concepts to system integration, verification and validation, you will take technical ownership and ensure that our solutions meet the required performance standards.
