Job summary

Basic-Fit, Europe’s leading value-for-money fitness chain, is seeking a people-oriented leader for the International Property & Construction team. You will manage a six-member architectural design and engineering group, shape priorities and mentor your team.

You’ll drive standards, coordinate with execution, balance local regulations, and collaborate with stakeholders across Europe. English is essential; some travel across markets is expected, with four days in the office and one day from home.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Proven experience managing, coaching and developing people in a technical environment.
• Solid understanding of architectural design, technical engineering and construction preparation.
• Strong planning, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to set priorities, make decisions and work independently.
• Excellent English communication; Dutch or another European language is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across European markets.
• Experience with BIM, Revit, AutoCAD or similar software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of six architectural designers and engineers.
• Set clear priorities, divide responsibilities and manage workload.
• Encourage ownership and support independent technical decisions.
• Help team members develop skills and grow in their roles.
• Create a positive working environment with knowledge sharing and accountability.
• Guide the team in preparing layouts and technical documentation for clubs, rebuilds and acquisitions.
• Ensure designs meet standards, project requirements and local regulations.
• Coordinate technical preparation and ensure projects are ready for execution.
• Work closely with the Execution team to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Identify technical risks and provide practical solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve challenges.
• Lead the development and implementation of architectural/technical standards across Europe.
• Collaborate with BIM Engineers to improve design and engineering processes.
• Use feedback from projects to improve future club designs.
• Improve efficiency, quality and consistency in club preparation and construction.
