Leiden University College is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant (TA) to support teaching in Global Public Health in the context of a Liberal Arts and Sciences programme.
The TA will work closely with the course instructor to develop engaging, interactive learning materials for in-person and virtual teaching. Responsibilities include preparing course resources which include syllabi and weekly lecture material, helping students connect neuroscience, epidemiology, and other core areas of global public health. The TA will also manage virtual connections to foster an inclusive and participatory classroom. Some administration to ensure students have access to materials will also be required. At times, the TA can lead lectures based on topic and level of comfort.

The lecturer for the Epidemiology and Social Determinants of Health will be your main point of contact and managing the daily work tasks. The Major Team Lead of the Global Health, Innovation, and Society major will be the direct supervisor. The TA may have some opportunities to enage with the wider Global Health, Innovation, and Society team who teach a variety of courses and are engaged in research based in the Hague as well as overseas.
In this team, we are looking for someone who support development of curriculum at the intersection of neuroscience and Global Health. Candidates should have experience working virtually with students and be confident setting up and managing classroom media, including video-conferencing platforms and digital learning tools. Excellent organisational, communication, teamwork skills are essential as is the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning activities.
