Job summary

Foot Locker is seeking a Manager Special Project Retail Environment to translate our brand strategy into the retail space. You will collaborate cross-functionally on development, design and space planning to elevate the store proposition and engagement across EMEA.

The role runs for five months through January 2027 and works with Store Development, Procurement and Space Planning to align the brand vision in all in-store touch points.

Qualifications

  • More than 7 years of VM/retail experience with managerial exposure.
  • Strong creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and deadline-driven mindset.
  • Proactive, well-organized and customer-oriented.
  • Experience with CAD design and blueprint drawings preferred.
  • Proficient with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, AutoCAD, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Fluent in English; eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of new fixtures and in-store initiatives to elevate consumer experience.
  • Lead capital submission, fixture development, procurement and rollout.
  • Manage capital investment planning and budgets for retail environment initiatives.
  • Coordinate vendor partnerships to deliver VM solutions.
  • Lead weekly design approval meetings with Real Estate/CX & Sales and Regional Planning.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to align project delivery.
  • Support the Fast Break Store concept rollout.

Overview

) The Manager Special Project Retail Environment is responsible for ensuring our brand strategy is translated into our retail environment through cross-functional collaboration on the development, design and space planning of our stores to ensure we elevate our store proposition and improve consumer engagement, productivity and profitability of our stores.

(This is a temporary 5-month role until January 2027)

) The Manager Special Project Retail Environment is responsible for ensuring our brand strategy is translated into our retail environment through cross-functional collaboration on the development, design and space planning of our stores to ensure we elevate our store proposition and improve consumer engagement, productivity and profitability of our stores.

The role works closely with Store development, Procurement and Space planning in the alignment of the brand vision across all in-store touch points. The role will be as well responsible to actively work on developing VM solutions to elevate our brand partners at Foot Locker locations across EMEA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new fixtures and in-store initiatives to elevate consumer experience
  • Lead strategic projects from capital submission, fixture development, procurement and rollout
  • Manages capital investment planning and expense budgets autonomously for retail environment initiatives, ensuring effective
  • resource allocation and delivery against business objectives
  • Responsible to create distinction through Vendor Partner collaboration - Vendors and external agencies
  • Responsible for identifying ideas and initiatives, partnering cross functionally, to improve consumer engagement and productivity of our stores through the lens of fixture design and store layout
  • Contribute to lead the “Fast Break Store concept” roll out
  • Responsible, in partnership with Real Estate / CX & Sales and Regional Planning teams, to lead the weekly design approval meetings and ensure all VM imperatives are embedded in every new / re-model store together with the coordinator Layout Planning
  • Cultivate and strategically manage vendor partnerships to identify and deliver innovative Visual Merchandising solutions that elevate the in-store experience, strengthen brand differentiation and drive business performance
  • Act as a subject matter expert, fostering capability growth and elevating functional expertise to support business needs
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders by driving process improvements, promoting cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment throughout all stages of project delivery.
Qualifications
  • More than 7 years of VM / Retail experience, with significant managerial exposure
  • Strong Creativity, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills with a deadline-driven mentality
  • Pro-active, well organized and flexible with a customer-oriented mindset
  • Design experience is preferred. Understanding CAD design is desirable, understanding of blueprint drawings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with design tools including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, AutoCAD, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat etc.) is preferred
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams) is required
  • Fluent in English
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the Netherlands
