Job summary

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in IT, encompassing core competencies listed (A+, VMware, Windows Server, AD, DNS).
  • Proficient in implementing and maintaining VMware 6 infrastructures and vSphere suite.
  • Strong knowledge of storage (vSAN, iSCSI, HP MSA) and backup using VEEAM.
  • Experience with Windows Server OS administration and AD environments.
  • Experience deploying SCCM and OS deployment tooling (MDT/RDS a plus).
  • Familiarity with core enterprise services (AD, DNS, Exchange, GPO, McAfee ePO, software updates).
  • Knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server environments is a plus.
  • Excellent English and collaboration in multinational setups.

Responsibilities

  • Core Services configuration end-to-end per approved designs and NCIA standards.
  • Core Services integration for interoperability with network and management tools.
  • Deployment support including validation and operational readiness within DCIS kits.
  • Configure and verify management/monitoring tools for Core Services.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation reflecting configurations and procedures.
  • Provide UAT support and troubleshooting for Core Services-related issues.

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
  • Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.
  • Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
  • Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
  • Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO's information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.

To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.

RoleDuties and Responsibilities
  • Core Services configuration: Executing the end-to-end configuration of Core Services componentsin accordance withapproved technical designs, security requirements, and NCIA standards.
  • Core Services integration: Integrating andvalidatingCore Services components to ensure interoperability with the network infrastructure, Boundary Protection capabilities, and supporting management systems.
  • Deployment support: Supporting the deployment, configuration, validation, and operational readiness of Core Services within DCIS kits.
  • Management tool integration: Configuring and verifying Core Services components within the applicable centralized management and monitoring tools.
  • System documentation management: Supporting the maintenance and updating of technical documentation to reflect changes, configurations, operational procedures, and implemented solutions.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Troubleshooting: Providing technical support during UAT, including fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of Core Services-related issues.

Specific Technical Qualifications and Experience
  • Personnel shall have at least three (3) years of experience in the following areas: COMPTIA A+ (Pre- 2019 Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002) Post 2019 Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiencyin implementing andmaintainingVMWare 6 infrastructures.
  • In-depth knowledge of the VMWare vSphere product including, but not limited to,ESXi, VSAN,vRealizeOperations, NSX, vSphere CLI scripting and VMWare update services.
  • In-depth knowledge of data storage technologies, likevSAN, iSCSI and small SANs (HP MSA).
  • In-depth knowledge of VEEAM Backup, replication 9.x and VMWare architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entire Microsoft Operating system product line administration: Windows server 2012R2, 2016, Windows 10, Exchange server 2013/2016.
  • Proficiencyin Managing DNS Domains and DNS Resolution on Windows 2008/2012 R2 and Windows 2016.
  • In-depth knowledge of implementing and administering Active Directory (AD) environments.
  • Proficiencyin troubleshooting client OS and client software problems.
  • Proficiencyin deployment of the SCCM architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge ofmaintainingthe Core Enterprise Services thatincludeActive Directory, Domain Trusts, Exchange Servers, DNS Management, Group Policy Management, McAfeeePolicyOrchestrator for Endpoint Protection and softwareupdate services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server environments.
8.2 Desirable Technical Qualifications and Experience
  • It is desirable that the assigned personnel have the following qualifications and have at leastthree (3) years of experience in the following areas:
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Deployment Kit (MDT Kit).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft RDS services.
  • Working knowledge of managing and configuring the McAfeeePolicyOrchestrator5.1.3 and above.
  • Solid appreciation of server,storageand networking hardware.
  • Good familiarization with HP Blade Server Products and HP rack-based servers.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and network management technology
