Job summary

smartQare is seeking a System Test Engineer to strengthen our MedTech cloud platform in Eindhoven. You will design, execute, and automate backend tests, ensure reliability, and contribute to system integration testing of the viQtor wearable.

You will collaborate with a team, work with CI/CD pipelines, and engage in interoperability testing with hospital information systems. Fluency in Dutch and English is preferred.

Qualifications

• We require a university degree in a computing-related field and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with backend testing and embedded device testing (manual and automated).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and test automation tools is essential.
• Experience with system integration testing and interoperability testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and databases is desired.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

System Test Engineer | MedTech | smartQare | Eindhoven

Do you have a background as a Backend Developer, Tester, or System Test Engineer? At smartQare, you can play a key role in the continued development of our certified medical solution. You will work on our cloud platform and contribute to improving the quality of care in hospitals. At smartQare, you get the opportunity to make a real impact, both nationally and internationally.

In this varied role, the emphasis lies on testing backend software: you design, execute, and automate tests that guarantee the quality and reliability of our platform. Alongside this, you are involved in system integration testing of the viQtor wearable, and in interoperability testing between the viQtor backend and third-party clinical information management systems (CIMS) used by our hospital customers. You won't be doing this on your own — you'll be working closely with a team of professionals.

About smartQare:

smartQare has developed a solution for continuous patient monitoring, for use both inside the hospital during transitions from hospital to home and at home. Our product portfolio includes two wearable devices, viQtor and Healthdot, which measure vital and non-vital signs and transmit them to the smartQare platform.

Your profile:

We are looking for enthusiastic professionals who love working with technology and are ready to take on the challenge of the complexity of a medical solution. Your work ensures that healthcare professionals have access to reliable, real-time patient data, giving them the ability to improve the quality of care and patient safety.

• A completed university degree (BA/MSc level) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role.

• Experience with backend software testing and embedded device testing (manual and automated).

• Experience with CI/CD and test automation tools.

• Experience with system integration testing (hardware/software integration) and interoperability testing between software systems is a strong plus.

• Affinity with backend development (e.g. Python, Java, Golang) is a plus.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms, in particular AWS, and databases.

• Affinity with the healthcare sector and knowledge of medical regulations is a bonus, such as ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and GDPR.

• Strong analytical skills, a proactive attitude, and a team spirit.

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

What we offer:

Primary employment conditions:

• 32 to 40 hours per week, with the option to partly work from home

• A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position
