Job summary

Fortaegis Technologies in Amsterdam seeks a System Integration Architect to own the physical integration of all system components—hardware, FPGA, firmware, and userspace applications. You will ensure deployability and reproducibility of CI/CD artifacts on real hardware.

You will build and maintain hardware test setups, flash bitstreams, and prepare golden images for QA. Collaboration with hardware and software engineers is essential to deliver repeatable, high-performance systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded systems bring-up.
  • Familiarity with JTAG, SWD, USB-to-UART, SPI/I2C debugging.
  • Knowledge of FPGA flashing processes.
  • Strong network engineering knowledge (network managers, routing tables, cabling).
  • Strong Linux system administration skills.
  • Basic understanding of Linux embedded systems (bootloader, kernel, device tree).
  • Ability to work closely with hardware and software engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and maintain the hardware test setups: boards, power supplies, cables, network, and sensors.
  • Flash bitstreams and firmware using JTAG, UART bootloaders, SD-card builders, etc.
  • Perform board bring-up when new hardware revisions arrive.
  • Document the flashing process and create standard deployment procedures.
  • Maintain bench equipment and lab automation tools.
  • Provide stable, reproducible environments for testing (e.g., reset rigs, programmable PSUs, fan controllers, automated switches).
  • Prepare golden images and system images for QA.

We are looking for a System Integration Architect to own the physical integration of all system components—hardware, FPGA, firmware, and userspace applications. Ensure deployability and reproducibility. This role takes the artifacts built by CI/CD and ensures they run on real hardware in a clean, repeatable way. Key contribution:

  • Assembles and maintains the physical test setups.
  • Flashes and deploys bitstreams, firmware, and software onto boards.
  • Ensures test environments are stable, identical, and ready for QA.
Job requirements
  • Experience with embedded systems bring-up.
  • Familiarity with JTAG, SWD, USB-to-UART, SPI/I2C debugging.
  • Knowledge of FPGA flashing processes.
  • Strong network engineering knowledge (network managers, routing tables, cabling).
  • Strong Linux system administration skills.
  • Basic understanding of Linux embedded systems (bootloader, kernel, device tree).

  • Bonus: experience with serial consoles, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
  • Bonus: Ansible scripting.

  • Linux Foundation Certifications (LFCA / LFCS).
