Job summary

ALTEN Netherlands is strengthening its Systems Engineering team to anticipate several incoming projects with high-tech clients in Eindhoven and Rotterdam. We are looking for Systems Engineers with 3 to 8+ years of experience who can structure complex systems, manage requirements, define interfaces, and support multidisciplinary development in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 8+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Strong background in requirements engineering, system decomposition, interfaces, and V&V.
• Experience with SysML and modelling tools (Cameo, Capella, Enterprise Architect).
• Hands-on experience with DOORS, Polarion, or similar requirements management tools.
• FMEA, risk analysis, and multidisciplinary system development.
• Experience with Jira and Agile environments.
• Preferably experience with MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements engineering with DOORS or Polarion and maintain system requirements.
• Conduct system decomposition into subsystems with traceability across the V-model.
• Contribute to system modelling and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Develop V&V strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform FMEA, risk analysis and reliability assessments.
• Prepare incoming projects by defining EPICs, features, and system-level deliverables.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to translate requirements into Agile work packages.
• Use Jira to manage system-level tasks and milestones.

We are looking for Systems Engineers with 3 to 8+ years of experience who can structure complex systems, manage requirements, define interfaces, and support multidisciplinary development in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering & Architecture

• Perform requirements engineering: capture, refine, validate, and maintain system requirements using tools such as DOORS or Polarion.
• Conduct system decomposition into subsystems and components, ensuring traceability across the V-model.
• Contribute to system modelling and simulation, preferably using MATLAB/Simulink for behavioural or functional analysis.

Verification & Validation

• Develop V&V strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria aligned with system requirements.
• Perform FMEA, risk analysis, and reliability assessments to ensure system robustness.

Agile & Project Preparation

• Prepare and structure incoming projects by defining EPICs, features, and system-level deliverables.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to translate system requirements into Agile work packages.
• Use Jira to manage system-level tasks, track progress, and ensure alignment with project milestones.

Requirements

• 3 to 8+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Strong background in requirements engineering, system decomposition, interfaces, and V&V.
• Experience with SysML and one or more modelling tools: Cameo, Capella, Enterprise Architect.
• Hands-on experience with DOORS, Polarion, or similar requirements management tools.
• Familiarity with FMEA, risk analysis, and multidisciplinary system development.
• Experience with Jira and Agile environments.
• Preferably experience with MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related technical discipline.
