Job summary

Destinus, a leader in cutting-edge aerospace hardware, seeks a Supply Chain Engineer in the Netherlands to own supplier development and industrialization. You will evaluate suppliers for manufacturability, lead cost-optimization efforts, and drive parts from prototype to production while ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating suppliers based on manufacturing capability and aerospace standards.
  • Experience with part development and industrialization.
  • Ability to review processes, tooling, materials, tolerances to optimize cost and lead time.
  • Translate drawings and requirements into supplier documentation.
  • Support make-or-buy decisions by assessing feasibility, risks, and costs.
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers during RFQs and supplier selection.
  • Drive cost reduction through design for manufacturability and value engineering.
  • Collaborate with design, production, quality and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority within the procurement team evaluating suppliers based on manufacturing capability aerospace standards and production maturity.
  • Work hands on with suppliers during part development and industrialization ensuring designs are robust manufacturable and ready for series production.
  • Review and challenge manufacturing processes tooling choices materials and tolerances to optimize cost quality and lead time.
  • Translate engineering drawings specifications and requirements into clear actionable supplier documentation.
  • Support make or buy decisions by assessing technical feasibility production risks and cost drivers.
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers during RFQs supplier selection and contract award phases.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through design for manufacturability value engineering and process optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering production quality and supply chain teams to align technical and commercial objectives.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need
  • Engineering degree in mechanical, aerospace, industrial or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments with direct exposure to production and industrialization.
  • Proven track record working with suppliers on technical topics including manufacturing processes materials and cost optimization
  • Strong ability to read interpret and challenge technical drawings specifications and tolerances
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining sheet metal composites or assembly
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification audits first article inspections and production ramp ups
  • Ability to identify cost drivers and lead design for manufacturability and value engineering initiatives
  • Comfortable leading technical discussions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience working in regulated environments with strict quality and documentation requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset in production driven settings
  • English and Dutch fluency since it's our working language.
