Job summary

The University of Amsterdam is seeking a student assistant for the Starting Grant project Future Modernities and Non-modern Futures, led by Irene Villaescusa Illán and Elio Attilio Baldi. The role involves coordinating the conference in Amsterdam and supporting workshops, with full-time commitment during the event.

You will maintain the project website with WordPress, assist in gathering research materials, and help prepare publications, while collaborating closely with the project team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as MA student at University of Amsterdam through Nov 2027.
• Experience in organization and administration; strong teamwork and communication; English writing/speaking excellent; Dutch/Spanish/Italian a plus.
• Well-organized with website maintenance experience.
• Interest in literary, cultural or media studies; speculative fiction knowledge is a plus.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for the project conference and workshops in the Netherlands and abroad.
• Maintain project website (WordPress).
• Assist gathering research materials.
• Assist in preparing publications (formatting, references, bibliographies).
• Assist with general administration and archiving.
