Job summary

The University of Amsterdam seeks a student assistant for the Starting Grant project Future Modernities and Non-modern Futures, based in Amsterdam. You will provide administrative support for the conference and related workshops, maintain the project website, and help gather research materials, preparing publications and coordinating with speakers.

This 12-month contract requires you to be an MA student at the UvA with strong English writing skills, good organizational abilities, and an interest

Qualifications

• MA student at the University of Amsterdam through Nov 2027.
• Experience with administrative and organizational work.
• Excellent English writing and speaking; Dutch/Spanish/Italian a plus.
• Well-organized with experience maintaining a website.
• Interest in literary, cultural or media studies; speculative fiction a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide admin support for project conferences and related workshops in the Netherlands and abroad.
• Maintain project website (WordPress).
• Assist team members with gathering research materials.
• Assist with publication preparation (formatting, references, bibliographies).
• Assist team leaders with general administration including Dropbox archiving.
