Job summary

Star is seeking a Project Buyer to handle direct equipment purchasing (valves, instrumentation, flow devices, etc.) and indirect goods, coordinating procurement across multiple projects within a small, flexible team. The role involves RFQ handling, contract negotiations, and close collaboration with project teams to ensure timely and compliant procurement.

You will work closely with the project execution teams, manage supplier performance, and contribute to avoiding bottlenecks in project

Qualifications

• Hands-on buyer with higher professional education, preferably with a technical background and NEVI 1.
• Several years of relevant experience in technical markets and project organizations.
• Good commercial sense and knowledge of legal and financial aspects of purchasing.
• Team player and able to communicate with engineering, strategic procurement, quality control and project management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and transparently with project execution teams.
• Ability to handle time pressure, act quickly, maintain overview and set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Send out requests for quotations, evaluate offers, negotiate and close contracts within targets.
• Signal bottlenecks in project execution and anticipate issues.
• Negotiate claim settlements.
• Communicate with department management and all project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the coordinator responsible for purchase orders in execution.
• Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement actions.
• Perform standard administrative activities and provide information from these activities.
