Job summary

Smith in Amsterdam is seeking a (Senior) Procurement Specialist with semiconductor buying experience to source and manage hardware components, negotiate with suppliers, and drive cost savings across Europe. You will ensure supply chain efficiency and coordinate with Sales, Operations and Accounting to streamline purchasing and orders.

Qualifications

• Equivalent experience (3-7 years) in purchasing in the semiconductor industry or similar industries.
• Experience in electronics distribution is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Team player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships.
• Source and negotiate the best prices for electronic components, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Conduct thorough part analysis and research to identify alternative manufacturers and cross-recommendations.
• Manage purchase orders (POs) efficiently, resolving any disputes in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Accounting departments to ensure seamless order processing and customer satisfaction.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to inform purchasing strategies.
• Apply knowledge of supply chain management and industry standards to optimize procurement processes.
