Strategic Account Manager - Regional & Local Institutions
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Strategic Account Manager (Regional & Local Institutions) within the Cardio Renal Metabolic (CRM) therapeutic area, you lead strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations, hospital networks, and other key stakeholders to improve patient care and outcomes. Leveraging account insights, health economic expertise, and cross-functional collaboration, you develop and execute account plans that drive shared-value initiatives, optimize treatment pathways, and support the adoption of Jardiance across regional and local healthcare settings.
This is afield-based role, and you will report directly to theHead of Therapeutic Area CRM.

HOW YOU’LL FIT IN:
- Identify, prioritize, and manage high‑value regional and local healthcare accounts based on patient potential and influence on our CRM product prescribing across first‑and second‑line settings.
- Own in‑depth strategic account analysis (stakeholders, decision drivers, pain points, SWOT) and define shared‑value strategic objectives aligned with the companies’ ICP and NL priorities.
- Lead the co‑creation and execution of strategic account plans and business cases, orchestrating cross‑functional tactics with Sales, MSLs, Market Access, and other relevant partners.
- Manage and continuously update account insights, stakeholder landscapes, and customer records within CRM, ensuring focus on the most impactful hospital networks and care groups.
- Drive integrated scientific and value‑based engagement by collaborating with MSLs, Market Access, and external partners to deliver tailored education, HEOR/HIM value discussions, and shared‑value initiatives (e.g. care pathways, patient finding projects).
YOU BRING:
- Bachelor Degree and/or Diploma Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Business Analysis, Finance, Marketing. MBA or another advanced degree a plus.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, or key account management within the CRM therapeutic area.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic account plans, lead complex projects, and deliver measurable outcomes aligned with customer and business objectives.
- Strong understanding of healthcare economics, HEOR principles, and healthcare system dynamics, with the ability to translate insights into impactful customer initiatives and tailored value communication.
- In‑depth knowledge of the Cardiometabolic & Renal (CRM) therapeutic area, including the ability to connect product expertise with practical care pathways, healthcare projects, and institutional needs.
- Excellent stakeholder management, networking, negotiation, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships, influence decision‑making, and drive the adoption of local healthcare initiatives.
- Strong collaborative and leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead without formal authority and work cross‑functionally across internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated customer solutions and present a unified "One Boehringer" approach.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver impactful educational programs, training initiatives, and shared‑value projects tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs).
- Solution‑oriented and innovative mindset, with the ability to challenge the status quo, leverage real‑world evidence (RWE) and outcomes data to drive informed decision‑making, solve complex healthcare challenges, and build effective connections across diverse stakeholder groups while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, integrity, and ethical conduct.
