Job summary

ASML invites a master’s student to join the Mechanical Development and System Dynamics team in Veldhoven for a master’s thesis internship. You will extend a reduced-order acoustic modeling framework by adding stochastic sources, combining theory, simulation, and experimental validation to improve distortion modeling in lithography systems.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in applied physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in computational acoustics and acoustic modeling.
  • Basic knowledge of numerical methods and simulation techniques.
  • Experience with MATLAB is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature review on stochastic acoustic source modeling.
  • Develop modal descriptions for stochastic acoustic sources.
  • Investigate modeling approaches for point, line, and surface sources.
  • Implement stochastic source representations within a reduced-order framework.
  • Create and evaluate a modal stochastic source matrix.
  • Compare simulation results with experimental measurements.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for future development.
