Job summary

ASML in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, offers a Master’s internship in Physics/Optics/Photonics with a 4–5 day per week commitment for 5–12 months. The role focuses on optimizing optical systems, exploring metrology concepts, and testing new light sources and detectors, while developing analytical or numerical models and designing experiments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in physical modelling and Fourier analysis.
• Experience with optical experiments and hardware control.
• Knowledge of optical simulation software.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB or Python.

Responsibilities

• Apply theoretical knowledge to optimize properties of optical systems and photonics.
• Explore novel optical metrology concepts.
• Investigate new light sources and detectors.
• Develop analytical and/or numerical models to understand light sources.
• Design and conduct experiments, interpret results and communicate findings; assist in setup automations.
