Job summary

Runware is building a serverless platform to deploy models and run AI workloads without managing GPUs or infrastructure. As a Staff/Senior Software Engineer, you will technically lead and build core systems, shaping the product direction with senior leadership.

You will own the backend that handles workload execution, routing, and observability, mentor engineers, and define engineering standards for a new product area. This role is remote-first with periodic in-person gatherings.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Staff/Senior Engineer or equivalent backend/platform leadership.
• Proven ability to design and build distributed backend services.
• Strong grasp of async processing, queues, retries and fault handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and architecture of the serverless platform.
• Build core systems for workload execution, routing, scheduling, isolation and scaling.
• Improve APIs, control planes, and observability for operations at scale.
• Collaborate with infra and ML teams to optimize startup time, GPU usage and caching.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards for the new product area.
