Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb Netherlands is seeking a Specialist Process Technician to maintain, install and troubleshoot GMP process equipment at our Leiden production site. This on-site, 24/7 role focuses on minimizing production impact while complying with cGMPs, with hands-on, safety‑driven work.

You will join a team dedicated to cell therapy manufacturing, participate in training, ensure proper documentation in CMMS, and collaborate with manufacturing, facilities and vendors to keep equipment

Qualifications

  • MBO level 4 diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • 3+ years maintenance experience, preferably with process/lab equipment.
  • Direct GMP facility experience and GMP record-keeping.
  • Troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and lab equipment.
  • Willingness to work later shifts and on-call duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety.
  • Experience with CMMS and documentation practices.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of GMP process equipment.
  • Ensure documentation stored in CMMS and compliant with GxP.
  • Participate in training to expand maintenance knowledge.
  • Review SOPs or job plans and assist.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting of clean utilities and equipment.
  • On-call duty and possible overtime/weekend hours.
  • Coordinate with F&E, Manufacturing, Warehouse and Vendors.
  • Daily contact with supervisory staff for assignments and coaching.

Position Summary

The Specialist Process Technician is responsible for performing/providing maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of GMP process equipment used in manufacturing, warehouse and analytical labs at the production site. All work to be completed safely and to assure minimal impact to production while complying with cGMPs. Hands on technical experience is necessary.

NOTE this is on‑site and on shift role. No remote work available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute routine to intermediate level maintenance activities and operate plant clean utility and process & lab equipment to sustain a cell therapy biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in accordance with CFRs, SOPs, job plans, and BMS policies.
  • Assures that all documentation is stored in CMMS and Document Management Systems compliant to GxP regulations.
  • Participates in a detailed training program, to develop one’s knowledge in the maintenance and operations field, as well as other areas of the facility.
  • Assists in review related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas.
  • Provides basic troubleshooting of clean utilities and process & lab equipment/systems.
  • Requires on-call duty and if needed overtime and weekend hours. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
  • Contact with F&E Team, Manufacturing, Warehouse & Lab Operators and Vendors.
  • Will have daily contact with her/his supervisory staff for work assignments and coaching.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Requires at least a MBO level 4 diploma, technical degree preferred and/or equivalent experience in maintenance, or related technical discipline. University degree is not necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably related to process-,lab equipment and clean utilities.
  • Direct experience working in GMP facilities, including understanding of GMP record keeping and documentation practices.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repair of electro‑mechanical systems and instrumental equipment.
  • Ability to work in a later stage in 24/7 operation shift.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Unwavering commitment to implement and follow safety protocols and work practices.
  • Experience in working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Self‑motivated, pro‑active, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Working Conditions

Basic lifting involved, accessing large manufacturing equipment, gowning for clean/controlled areas, exposure to chemicals, access to secured areas, exposure to confined space, ability to work at different heights.
