Job summary

Axient Systems in Delft is seeking a Mission / System Architect to own the architecture of a new space mission from concept through to launch and commissioning. You will drive the mission and system architecture, trade studies, and system budget, while guiding a team of SV systems engineers in a model-based environment.

You have 10+ years in space systems engineering with orbital/spacecraft experience, strong MBSE skills, and are fluent in Dutch with eligibility for Dutch clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in space systems engineering with ownership of spacecraft architecture.
• Earth observation or optical payload experience.
• Fluent in Dutch and eligible for Dutch clearance.
• Experience with export control constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own the mission and system architecture for a space vehicle from concept to launch and commissioning.
• Lead trade studies on orbit geometry, imaging concepts, comms, launch vehicle, and make/buy decisions at system level.
• Define the system budget (mass, power, data, link, pointing) and allocate to subsystems.
• Create the functional tree and product tree; guide systems engineering team.
• Define end-of-life and disposal concepts affecting propulsion, power and RF.
• Arbitrate across disciplines to ensure interfaces meet mission needs.
• Present the project stance at reviews in front of customer and independent reviewers.
