Role Description
As a Solution Engineer within the SIMOCRANE RCOS team, you will work on advanced remote‑control and automation solutions for container cranes in ports around the world. You will be part of a young, multidisciplinary and international team. No two days are the same: design and integrate SCADA solutions, collaborate closely with PLC and hardware specialists and participate in on‑site commissioning activities. The challenge lies in delivering reliable, safe and scalable solutions in mission‑critical environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing robust and scalable SCADA solutions for crane automation systems
- Contributing to the development of advanced remote‑control and automation solutions for harbor cranes
- Reading, understanding, and modifying PLC logic to support integration and commissioning activities
- Collaborating closely with PLC engineers and hardware teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Performing commissioning activities, including testing, troubleshooting and system optimization
- Preparing clear technical documentation and reporting progress to project stakeholders
- Supporting acceptance testing and final project handover
Your Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- You actively work with object‑oriented programming languages in industrial environments
- You preferably have at least 3 years of hands‑on experience with WinCC OA
- You are able to read, analyze, and adjust PLC logic (SIMATIC S7) when required
- You understand complex system behavior across SCADA, PLC and hardware layers
- You are professionally fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage
- You hold a valid driver’s license and are willing to travel internationally 10–20% of the time
