Job summary

Sioux Group is looking for a Software Tech Lead to provide technical leadership for a software team developing high-tech products and machines in the Benelux region. You will guide architectural and development decisions and collaborate with customers and the Development Center Manager.

The role is based at our Apeldoorn office, with the option to work from home as projects allow. You bring 10+ years in embedded software, strong Agile/Scrum experience, and fluency in C/C++/C#/Python on Linux or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, including leading/coaching a software team.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and structured team organization.
• Experience with software design/architecture and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction to the software team while fostering collaboration.
• Prepare and facilitate Scrum activities including sprint planning, reviews, and demos.
• Safeguard and advance technical content: requirements, design, architecture, and implementation decisions.
• Set up and improve the software development environment, CI/build processes, and configuration management.
• Communicate with customers and the Development Center Manager; monitor progress and risks.
• Contribute to software development as a senior engineer where appropriate.

Job description

As a Software Tech Lead, you provide technical leadership for a team developing software for high-tech products and machines.

In this role, you support and deliver solutions to our customers in the semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, and medical equipment industries, within the triangle of Nijmegen, Enschede, and Zwolle, by delivering smart, sustainable, and reliable software solutions. Your software expertise plays an essential role in bringing these high-tech solutions to life.

What excites you as a Software Tech Lead?

As a Software Tech Lead, you are responsible for the day-to-day technical leadership and direction of a software team. You create clarity, facilitate effective collaboration, and ensure the team delivers high-quality software within agreed timelines and objectives. You identify risks and bottlenecks and initiate corrective actions when necessary. You actively contribute to technical work and act as the link between the team, the Development Center Manager, and the customer. The exact emphasis of your responsibilities depends on the organization and project.

You work from our office in Apeldoorn.

• Depending on the project and organization, your responsibilities may include:
• Providing technical leadership and support to the software team while fostering effective collaboration.
• Preparing and facilitating Scrum activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and demos, and maintaining the related administration.
• Safeguarding and further developing the technical content, including requirements, design, architecture, and implementation decisions.
• Setting up, maintaining, and improving the software development environment, including continuous build and integration processes and configuration management.
• Communicating with customers and the Development Center Manager.
• Monitoring progress, quality, risks, and technical coherence, and initiating corrective actions when required.
• Actively contributing to software development as a senior software engineer where appropriate.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in technical (embedded) software development, including experience leading, coaching, or technically guiding a software team.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with the ability to organize team activities in a structured manner.
• Experience with software design and architecture, as well as development practices such as continuous integration, build automation, and configuration management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to connect people, maintain overview, and take initiative when adjustments are needed.
• Affinity with C, C++, C#, and/or Python development on Linux or Windows platforms.
