Job summary

Dustin in Leiden is hiring a Software Engineer Backend to design, develop, and modernize scalable backend services powering its product data platform. You will work with PHP and Symfony, leverage AWS and cloud-native tech, and help onboard AI-assisted development practices.

You will collaborate with Architecture, Operations, and Product Management across European markets to deliver reliable, high-performance data processing and supplier integrations.

Your role & influence as Software Engineer-Backend

Responsibility

You will be given responsibility for designing, developing, modernizing, and operating the backend systems and data processing capabilities that power Dustin's product import platform, ensuring it remains scalable, reliable, secure, and ready to support continued growth across multiple European markets.

Collaboration

Together with your team, you take care of the reliable onboarding, processing, enrichment, and publication of supplier product data. You'll work closely not only with your immediate team members but also with Architecture, Operations, Product Management, and other business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that support Dustin's B2B business across multiple European markets.

Core activities

• Design, develop, and modernize scalable backend services and data processing pipelines using PHP, Symfony, AWS, and cloud-native technologies.
• Build and maintain supplier integrations that ensure reliable onboarding, enrichment, and publication of product data across multiple European markets.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and engineering excellence by implementing automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted development practices.
