Job summary

Sioux in Delft is looking for a Software Designer (C#, C++, Java) to develop software for high-tech products and machines. You will translate requirements into robust designs, guide development teams, and contribute technically while growing into a leadership role.

Based at our Delft office and visiting client sites, you’ll work on challenging projects advancing semiconductor, analytical instrumentation and medical equipment software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in technical software development across diverse projects.
• Over the past 4–5 years, work in Semicon, Medical, or Analytical domains.
• Experience with at least two of C#, C++, or Java.
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, UML, and Agile; keep technical skills up to date.
• Able to coach junior engineers and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and system requirements into innovative, clear, and feasible concepts during the conceptual phase of projects.
• Act as a bridge between architects and engineers from a technical perspective.
• Take responsibility for a module/subsystem throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Ensure software quality, scalability and maintainability through sound engineering practices.
• Apply strong communication skills to guide and mentor a team of engineers.

This is what you bring to the table

• You have a technical Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• You have 7+ years of experience in technical software development, gained in various roles and across diverse product environments and/or projects.
• Over the past 4–5 years, you have worked within technical domains such as Semicon, Medical, or Analytical.
• You have experience with at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, or Java.
• You have knowledge of and/or experience with various development methodologies and techniques such as Design Patterns, UML, and Agile, and you keep your technical expertise up to date. You are looking for an environment where you can apply these developments in practice as well.
• Based on your experience, you are able to coach junior engineers.
• You are a team player and keep the common goal in mind.
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• You hold a valid European driver's license and are willing to travel.
