Job summary

SodaStream Netherlands (NLC) is seeking a Material Planner to control, anticipate, and maintain inventory levels for assembly and gas filling operations. You will secure timely supply of all essential materials and ensure deliveries align with the production plan.

You will manage order quantities using MOQ and purchasing advantages, coordinate with suppliers and production planners, and prevent shortages while minimizing overstock. The role requires HBO level education and English proficiency.

Overview

NLC main activity:

The main activity of NLC is filling and distributing gas cylinders, machines and other SodaStream products for the European market.

Departments main activity:

The planning department is aimed at coordinating the supply and production according to the demands of the market. Taking into account all specific and new market requests, the direct materials needed for production and the on time production. The planning department optimizes the way of working in order to create the most efficient planning which is also compatible for other departments. Planning is the connecting factor between the suppliers, operations, logistics and marketing.

Hierarchal position:

The material planner reports hierarchal directly to the manager planning.

The material planner has no direct reports.

Positions main activity:

The position of material planner is mainly aimed at controlling, anticipating, and maintaining the inventory levels of the materials required for assembly and gas filling operations at NLC. The material planner makes sure that the supply of the needed material is guaranteed for the short and medium term. The material planner assures that all required "buy items" arrive at the right time and quantity to the right place.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the supply and timing the arrival of the deliveries according to the production plan.
• Actively follows up on scheduled deliveries.
• Inventory management: Able to determine the correct order quantity based on MOQ, purchasing advantages, requirements and risks.
• Continuous alignment with the planners and suppliers. Anticipates on and provides support to resolve issues.
• Actively discuss potential shortages and work with suppliers and production planners to minimize disruption.
• Responsible for the logistic coordination and the arrival PD (promised date) of all needed raw materials. Ensures materials are delivered at the right time to enable full production.
• Ensures the KPI’s set around order and stock control are met.
• Prevent and analyze overstock.
• Provides the logistic team with information about expected inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Continuously trying to improve the way of working.
• Is willing to do all tasks deemed necessary by the supervisor/manager to contribute to the success of SodaStream.
• Follows all safety and quality instructions and contributes to developing and improving the safety and quality standards in SodaStream.
• Can cover colleagues with similar duties during vacation periods.
• Executes any environmental and safety related measures developed by the QESH department. Reports safety issues and environmental risks to the QESH department and/or management.

Qualifications

• Education: minimum HBO level is required, preferably in the field of Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• Skills: A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar international environment is required. Experience in working with Word and Outlook is a must. An advanced Excel level is required. Good analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
• Language: Excellent level of English language is required.
