Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Site Manager to lead on-site activities across projects in the Benelux, ensuring cost-effective execution, safety, quality and schedule during start-up through maintenance. For long distances, Monday–Friday hotel accommodation is provided.

You will plan on-site activities with the Project Manager, coordinate with customers and subcontractors on safety and site organization, and oversee installation, testing and handover, ensuring timely delivery of Hitachi Energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years as Field Service Engineer or Site Manager for HV to LV equipment.
• 2+ years in Maintenance.
• Knowledge of Dutch HSE rules and implementation.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Strong organizational skills and team leadership.
• Driving license category B.

Responsibilities

• Plan on-site activities with Project Manager including resources, equipment and milestones.
• Coordinate customer and subcontractor targets, safety and environment requirements, site organization.
• Ensure compliance with Building Law: start/end notifications, site logbook, permissions.
• Direct supervision of work based on contract, docs, schedules, and tests.
• Control project costs and forecast final cost.
• Coordinate works and acceptance of subcontractors' construction works.
• Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of equipment and logistics.

By joining the GI Service team (GIService) you are responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance and servicing work of the automation, communication and safety systems as well as all other electrotechnical systems on converter stations as well as offshore platforms.

The opportunity

Due to continuous growth of our operations in The Netherlands, we are hiring a Site Manager to join the team. The Site Manager is responsible for leading all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases. Our on-site activities can be based anywhere in Benelux, so you can too. In case of a large distance between home and site, Monday-to- Friday hotel accommodation will be provided by Hitachi Energy.

How you'll make an impact

• Plan project on-site activities with Project Manager including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones
• Coordinate the agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety and environment requirements, site organization and policy
• Conduct activities according to the Building Law: notification of start & end site works, construction logbook, permission to use from local authorities
• Direct supervision of work realization on the basis of contract requirements, technical documentation, schedules and work organization plans, quality, control and tests
• Control project cost for the project site work, monitor actual spend against forecasts and estimate final cost for the same
• Coordinate works and acceptance of construction works provided by subcontractors
• Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of Hitachi Energy delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material

Your background

• A bachelor degree in electrical engineering or similar by experience
• At least 2 years as a Field Service Engineer or Site Manager from High Voltage to Low Voltage equipment, assembly, and installation
• At least 2 years of experience in Maintenance
• Knowledge of Dutch Health, Safety and Environment rules, as well as how to implement them and making sure they are followed
• Proficiency in Dutch and English
• Very good organization of own work and a team of subordinates.
• Driving license category B
