Job summary

LeydenJar Technologies seeks a Material Scientist to design, synthesize, and optimize pure silicon anodes. You will own development topics from hypothesis to validated results, conducting experiments, material characterization, and analysis in close coordination with the Product Technical Lead.

This role focuses on PECVD‑driven silicon films, correlating film properties to battery performance, and driving scale‑up with internal teams and external partners at Eindhoven.

Qualifications

• PhD in Material Science or Chemical Engineering or MSc with hands-on equivalent experience.
• Experience in material characterization and thin-film materials.
• Fluent in English; strong analytical and experimental skills.

Responsibilities

• Own development topics end to end—from problem definition to documented conclusions.
• Establish characterization methods and select instrumental analysis.
• Characterize morphologies to define the Si anode product and link to performance.
• Develop product and process characterization methods for QC/QA transfer.
• Collaborate with battery, process, engineering and production teams and external partners.
