Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a service engineer, specialist or architect to enhance managed infrastructure and cloud services. The role links architecture, engineering and operations to keep services standardised, automated and production-ready.

The incumbent will develop patterns, translate requirements into deployable solutions and drive automation, monitoring and operational readiness across platforms and cloud environments, aligning with resilience and security goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in service engineering for managed infrastructure and cloud services.

• Experience with automation, monitoring and incident reduction.
• Familiarity with cloud and data-centre technologies and security practices.

• Develop and maintain reusable service-engineering standards and patterns.

• Support the transition of new and changed services into production.
• Define technical monitoring, alerting, logging and support requirements.

• Maintain technical documentation and service models.
• Support proof-of-concept, testing and validation activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD and delivery practices.

The service engineer, specialist or architect develops and improves the engineering capabilities behind managed infrastructure and cloud services. The role connects architecture, engineering and operations to ensure services are standardised, automated, measurable and ready for production use.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reusable service-engineering standards and patterns.
• Translate architecture and service requirements into deployable engineering solutions.
• Build automation for deployment, configuration, monitoring and operational support.
• Support the transition of new and changed services into production.
• Define technical monitoring, alerting, logging and support requirements.
• Ensure that services include appropriate resilience, security and recovery capabilities.
• Work with operations teams to eliminate recurring incidents and manual effort.
• Maintain technical documentation, service models and engineering artefacts.
• Support proof-of-concept, testing and validation activities.
• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery practices.
• At L4, lead engineering workstreams and complex service-development initiatives.
• At L5, define service-engineering architecture, strategy and technical roadmaps.
