Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Lead Vulnerability Intelligence Analyst based in the Netherlands. This senior role combines vulnerability research, exploit validation, and threat intelligence to assess real-world risk from newly discovered vulnerabilities.

You will design honeypots, build automation, and mentor a technical team while delivering actionable intelligence to customers. You’ll validate exploits, manage PoC testing in controlled environments, and develop mitigation strategies when patches

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of vulnerability research and intelligence.
• Proven ability to validate and test PoCs and assess exploitability credibility.
• Strong programming ability (Python/Go/C/C++ or similar).
• Hands-on experience with VMs, containers, and isolated analysis environments.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS, authentication, and real-world deployments.
• Ability to develop mitigations beyond patching and assess defensive controls.
• Experience writing actionable vulnerability intelligence reports for security professionals.
• Bias toward automation and building scalable analysis tooling.
• Experience mentoring junior security professionals and raising technical standards.
• Knowledge of CVSS, CWE, EPSS, and KEV catalog is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vulnerability intelligence practice and establish standards for validation and communication.
• Research newly disclosed vulnerabilities and verify exploitation claims.
• Test PoCs in controlled environments to confirm exploitability.
• Design and operate honeypots and sensor systems to monitor exploitation activity.
• Develop practical mitigations when patches are delayed or unavailable.
• Create automation to streamline assessment, triage, and analysis workflows.
• Integrate valuable vulnerability intelligence sources into the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior analysts and raise team technical capabilities.
• Contribute to improvements in methodologies, tooling, and coverage.
