Job summary

Alfen B.V. in Almere is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to validate high-tech electronics, embedded systems and power electronics within R&D. You will develop advanced test environments, define methodologies and deliver insights that drive product quality and design improvements.

You will work on test setups, protocols and analyses for prototypes and final products, contribute to test strategies and infrastructure, and mentor junior colleagues to strengthen our testing landscape.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
In-depth knowledge of embedded systems, power electronics or energy storage systems.
Experience in writing/executing test plans for embedded and/or power electronics systems.
Skilled in developing test setups and using measurement equipment.
Familiarity with IEC standards and other relevant standards.
Experience with programming languages and/or high-voltage, EMC and power converters.
Holding VCA and VP LS certifications is a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Excellent command of Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Test Environment Development: Develop complex test setups and environments for high-tech electronics and embedded systems; write comprehensive test protocols based on IEC standards; support build, integration and verification of test setups and measurement equipment; advance test methodologies and define standards for new product platforms.
Testing & Analysis: Test prototypes and final products on embedded software, control systems, electronics and hardware; analyze test data and identify root causes of deviations; select and apply advanced measurement equipment and test tools; document test results for internal reviews.
Advisory & Technical Improvements: Translate test results into concrete design improvements; advise engineers on hardware and software modifications to enhance testability and product performance; provide go/no-go recommendations; contribute to product architecture through test and quality analyses; advise Business Units on routine testing and required test equipment.
Seniority & Leadership: Coach and guide junior and medior Test Engineers; act as technical sounding board; improve and safeguard test processes and methodologies; participate in standards committees and contribute to IEC standards; identify risks and bottlenecks in multidisciplinary projects.
