Job description

Quantum Systems Architect – Advanced Technology

Delft, Netherlands | Hybrid | Up to €140,000 + benefits

We are partnered with an innovative deep-tech technology company developing highly sophisticated hardware and software solutions for next-generation computing and scientific applications.

As the organisation continues to scale, they are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Architect to take a leading role in defining and evolving complex, multidisciplinary technology platforms.

This is a high-impact position for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, software, electronics and advanced signal-processing technologies.

You will operate at system level, translating complex technical requirements into scalable architectures and working closely with specialist engineering teams to ensure the different layers of the platform work together effectively.

The Role

You will be responsible for shaping system architecture across a highly integrated technology platform, with a particular focus on performance, scalability, latency, interfaces and system-level requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and evolving end-to-end system architectures across hardware and software.
  • Establishing system boundaries, interfaces and technical ownership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Designing architectures where real-time performance and deterministic execution are critical.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a senior-level architect who can see the whole system, rather than someone focused exclusively on one engineering discipline.

You should have:

  • A Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems architecture or systems engineering.
  • Experience working with complex, multidisciplinary hardware/software systems.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, data movement, interfaces and hardware/software partitioning.
  • Experience with real-time, low-latency systems, FPGA/SoC architectures or deterministic computing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed digital and/or mixed-signal systems.
  • Familiarity with areas such as ADCs/DACs, signal integrity, timing, jitter, phase noise or high-speed signal processing.
  • Experience translating system-level objectives into detailed engineering requirements.

Experience in one or more of the following environments would be highly relevant:

  • Quantum or advanced computing
  • RF and microwave systems
  • Scientific instrumentation
  • Semiconductor technology
  • High-performance electronics
  • FPGA-based systems
  • Advanced signal processing
  • Embedded and real-time systems
  • Complex instrumentation or test & measurement
