Job summary

Nearfield Instruments in Rotterdam is seeking a Production Engineer focused on supplier quality in our Production Cleanroom to improve the quality of components and assemblies used in our metrology systems.

You will monitor supplier parts, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with external partners to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards, while supporting production with timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and supplier auditing practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with suppliers and teams.

Where will you be working?

You will be working within Production Engineering team in close collaboration with D&E and System Engineering and SCM with end goal to improve the production and CT.

What will you be doing?

As a Production Engineer focused on Supplier Quality and Quality in Production Cleanroom, you will:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality roles within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (e.g. 8D, DMAIC).
  • Familiarity with quality standards and supplier auditing practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive quality improvements.
