Job summary

Telespazio Belgium, working at ESTEC in the Netherlands, invites a Senior Small Satellites Engineer to join our on-site team as contractor for Telespazio Belgium. You will contribute to in‑orbit technology demonstration projects and coordinate across engineering disciplines.

Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote in NL) with a competitive salary and extensive relocation support. A Master’s in Physics or Engineering and space systems experience are required to help advance mission

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or Engineering.
• Experience participating in reviews.
• Procurement and technical monitoring experience.
• Knowledge of Space Engineering Standards.
• Understanding of space missions and spacecraft systems design.
• Understanding of space systems architectures.
• Systems Engineering in early project phases (trade-offs, budgets, tech development).

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Projects.
• Support the section for In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Projects based on Small Satellites.
• Contribute to system architectures and operations concepts.
• Assist in system and subsystem design definition activities.
• Assist in requirement management with traceability and interfaces.
• Support design trade-off discussions and identify main system drivers.
• Contribute to budgeting tracking across the project lifecycle for compliance.
• Support qualification and verification activities at system and subsystem levels.
• Identify technical risks and mitigation actions.
• Interface with engineering disciplines and QA functions.
• Coordinate with external interfaces (launch services, flight ops, users).
• Contribute to end-to-end mission performance simulators and models.
• Provide support for launch preparation, LEOP and in-orbit commissioning.
• Assist in monitoring industrial activities and participate in reviews.
