JobCubby is listing a Senior Ruby Developer (Ruby & Go) for a partner company based in the Netherlands. You will own backend services across Ruby on Rails and Go, focusing on secure, scalable payment infrastructure for a global fintech platform.

Responsibilities include integrating PSPs, building deposit/withdrawal workflows, and ensuring PCI DSS compliance while mentoring engineers in an international team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in API-driven environments.
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience; Go required for production workloads.
• Proven experience integrating payment service providers and gateways.
• Understanding of PCI DSS and secure handling of financial data.
• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and own backend services using Ruby on Rails and Go, focused on scalability and reliability.
• Lead integration of payment providers and methods (cards, bank transfers, crypto, local solutions).
• Build end-to-end deposit/withdrawal workflows ensuring secure funds movement.
• Design and consume PSP APIs, webhooks, and callbacks.
• Develop transaction routing, reconciliation, and payment lifecycle logic.
• Implement robust handling for payment states, retries, and idempotency.
• Maintain security controls for payment data and support PCI DSS compliance.
• Monitor integrations, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and performance.
• Develop reporting, logging, and observability for payments operations.
• Support anti-fraud, AML, and KYC controls in workflows.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions and reviews.
