Job summary

ING is seeking a group‑level expert to oversee regulatory credit risk model changes (IRB and IFRS9) and provide independent technical judgement on risk, methodology and supervisory expectations. You will advise senior Risk Management and Model Development teams and coordinate with the ECB and external auditors.

You will join an international team that guides model strategy, ensures alignment with Group standards, and leads on-site inspections and model investigations at Group level.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 6–12 years of experience in credit risk modelling, supervision or closely related fields.
• Broad hands‑on expertise in credit risk modelling, covering IRB and IFRS9 frameworks and policy implications.
• Understanding of the full regulatory credit risk model lifecycle and governance.
• Knowledge of capital requirements regulation and model risk frameworks with sound judgement.
• Strong quantitative and statistical capability with supervisory insight.
• Clear, confident communication with senior stakeholders and supervisory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee changes to regulatory credit risk models at Group level, advising and challenging Risk Management and Model Development teams.
• Perform QA reviews of IMIs and on‑site inspections, coordinating submissions, presentations and Q&As.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders globally, including the ECB and external auditors.
• Represent ING in IMIs, on‑site inspections and regulatory discussions related to credit risk models.
