Job summary

AmbaFlex Spiral Conveyor Solutions in Zwaag seeks a Senior Purchaser who owns a global supplier portfolio and drives cost, quality and risk improvements across Europe and Asia within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

You will negotiate contracts, develop sourcing strategies for critical components and partner with Engineering, Production, Logistics and R&D to align procurement with production needs, while reporting to the Global Material Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar.
• 7–10 years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with international suppliers and contract management.

With production and engineering locations in Zwaag, Jucu, Shanghai and Canton, we operate in a fast-moving international manufacturing environment where innovation, quality and collaboration are key.

To strengthen our Global Materials Management Department, we are looking for a Senior Purchaser who can take ownership of critical supplier groups and drive real impact.

The role

As Senior Purchaser, you are responsible for a significant part of our global supply chain (± €10M spend across ~20–25 suppliers).

This is not a traditional purchasing role. You act as the owner of your supplier portfolio, balancing cost, availability, quality and risk across an international network. You combine strategic sourcing with hands‑on execution and are expected to set priorities, make decisions and drive improvements - not wait for direction.

You operate in a global context (with a strong footprint in Asia and growing demand from the US) and work closely with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Production, Logistics and R&D.

You will report to the Global Material Manager.

In this role, you will:

• Take ownership of key global supplier groups and manage performance end‑to‑end
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical components and commodities
• Lead supplier negotiations and manage contracts with a strong commercial mindset
• Actively manage supply chain risks (e.g. geopolitical, capacity, lead times)
• Improve supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery and reliability
• Identify and realize structural cost savings — beyond short‑term deals
• Optimize lead times and ensure continuity of supply (no stock‑outs)
• Visit and develop suppliers internationally (mainly Europe and Asia)
• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with production needs
• Bring structure, speed and ownership to procurement processes

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or similar
• 7–10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations and contract management
• Experience managing international suppliers and complex supply chains
• Strong technical affinity (knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus)
• Experience with plastics (injection molding), metal forming or similar processes is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor)
• Fluent in English and Dutch
