Job summary

Aquablu in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Hardware) to own end-to-end hardware and software projects, align teams, and ensure milestones hit on time and on budget. You will champion stage-gate product development, blend agile when needed, and drive milestones with clear status updates to stakeholders across engineering, operations, product, and partners.

• Fluency in stage-gate and agile approaches.
• Experience with Asana, Jira, or MS Project.
• Strong communicator who distills complex ideas for diverse audiences.
• Ability to empower engineers while guarding scope and budgets.
• Able to work without visa sponsorship; PMP or PRINCE2 is a plus.

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager (Hardware) to steer our multidisciplinary hardware + software projects. You’ll own the plan, energise the team, and make sure every milestone splashes down on time, on budget, and on point.

What you’ll be doing

Chart the Course: Create, maintain, and continuously improve the product-development project plan alongside our Project Lead Engineer.

Stakeholder Integrator : Serve as the central link, mapping priorities, crafting clear high-level overviews, and balancing the communication needs of engineering, operations, product, and other partners so everyone moves in sync.

Watch the Clock & the Cost: Track timelines, budgets, and risks, escalating early to keep delivery smooth and surprises minimal.

Proof in the Progress: Document milestones, craft crisp status reports, and keep stakeholders in the loop without the fluff.

Unblock & Accelerate: Identify obstacles before they surface and implement creative mitigation strategies.

Level-Up Our Playbook: Lead the development and integration of Aquablu’s stage-gate product-development system, blending agile practices when needed.

What you bring

5-7 years leading hardware projects as a (Senior) Project Manager.

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Business, or a related field

Full-lifecycle product development: you’ve shepherded ideas from first mock-up to mass production.

Fluency in both stage-gate and agile: structure when we need it, sprints when we don’t.

Experience with Asana, Jira, or MS Project.

Impactful Communicator: distill complex ideas into concise, audience-tailored insights, cutting the fluff and spotlighting what truly matters.

Structured Thinker: bring order to the chaos of a fast-moving tech team, turning parallel timelines into a clear, trackable plan.

Supportive Leader: You empower engineers to deliver, while holding the line on scope, schedule, and spend.

Challenge-Driven Realist: You dive deep before saying “no,” uncover practical solutions, and set clear, realistic boundaries.

Able to work without visa sponsorship, we are not IND registered sponsors.

Have PMP or PRINCE2 certification.

Have rolled out product-development processes from scratch in a fast-moving startup or scale-up.

Bring experience from an industry similar to Aquablu’s hydration tech.

Have experience with software and hardware.
