Job summary

Progressive is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex technology and digital transformation initiatives in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Based in Breda, the role is hybrid with minimum 3 days onsite, guiding projects from concept to handover and collaborating with Technology, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing Operations.

You will drive deployment of manufacturing systems and IT/OT solutions, manage risks and budgets, and ensure successful adoption

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management experience delivering large-scale technology, automation, manufacturing systems, IT/OT or digital transformation projects.
  • Proven experience working in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading projects through qualification, validation and operational handover.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams across Quality, Operations, Engineering and Technology functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams within complex matrix organisations.
  • Excellent communication, planning, risk management and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale manufacturing technology and digital transformation projects from initiation through operational handover.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, governance, risks and resource planning.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, qualification, validation and go-live activities.
  • Drive deployment of manufacturing systems, automation platforms, digital technologies and IT/OT solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams within a complex matrix organisation.
  • Manage vendors, system integrators and key business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate executive steering meetings, workshops and decision forums.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, validation, cybersecurity, quality and data integrity requirements.
  • Support organisational change, operational readiness, training and successful business adoption.

Senior Project Manager | Manufacturing Technology & Digital Transformation

Location: Breda, Netherlands (Hybrid, minimum 3 days onsite)

Contract: 12-month contract with potential for long-term extension

Working hours: 40 hours per week

An international biopharmaceutical manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex technology and digital transformation projects supporting manufacturing expansion, modernisation and operational excellence.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on delivering innovative manufacturing technologies in a GMP-regulated environment. You will work across Technology, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Automation and global stakeholders to ensure critical projects are successfully delivered from concept through operational handover.

What You Bring

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management experience delivering large-scale technology, automation, manufacturing systems, IT/OT or digital transformation projects.
  • Proven experience working in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading projects through qualification, validation and operational handover.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams across Quality, Operations, Engineering and Technology functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams within complex matrix organisations.
  • Excellent communication, planning, risk management and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to MES, SCADA, Serialization, Digital Twin, Smart Manufacturing, Industrial IoT or comparable manufacturing technologies.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience delivering innovative technology programmes involving operational change and business transformation.
