Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Project Engineer in Leiden to manage and execute complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and corporate goals. The role blends technical engineering with project management across multidisciplinary teams.

The position requires leadership in engineering scopes, coordination with external firms, and adherence to Dutch, European, and Janssen Biologics standards.

Qualifications

• University / Bachelor or equivalent degree in Engineering or Life Sciences.
• 7-9 years of experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience managing complex projects with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and other relevant engineering tools.
• Strong analytical skills to identify gaps and troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineer role in high complexity projects coordinating all engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support for project planning, development, and modification.
• Develop and review technical specifications, reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Translate scope into requests for quotation packages and ensure GXP requirements are met.
• Manage progress and quality with external engineering firms and on-site contractors.
• Coordinate modifications with stakeholders and participate in Management of Change.
