Hitachi Energy in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Project Controller to serve as the financial leader of large, complex projects, from tender handover to completion, ensuring governance and insights to drive performance.
You will partner with project managers, oversee reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, cost control, and project performance across international teams, while ensuring IFRS compliance and effective contract and change management.
At Hitachi Energy, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of large and complex projects that support the energy transition. As a Senior Project Controller, you act as the financial leader of the project, providing the financial clarity, governance, and insights needed to drive performance and informed decision‑making.
You will partner closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from tender handover to project completion. You will transform financial data into actionable insights, proactively manage risks and opportunities, and ensure strong financial governance. Your projects will typically range from USD 50 million to 200 million and involve multiple stakeholders, business functions, and execution units.

You act as the financial lead for complex projects, driving performance, profitability, and execution excellence.
You manage financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, cost control, and project performance throughout the project lifecycle.
You identify and manage risks and opportunities, ensuring proactive actions to protect margin and project outcomes.
You support tender handovers and ensure lessons learned are captured and applied during project execution.
You ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, governance requirements, and audit standards.
You support contract, scope, and change management activities to drive revenue growth and margin improvement.
You monitor project schedules, resource plans, and critical dependencies to improve project performance.
You coach project teams and finance colleagues while promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
You hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
You have significant experience in project controlling, project finance, or financial management of complex projects.
You have strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, and project accounting.
You understand project risk management, contract management, and project governance principles.
You communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels and across different cultures.
You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
