Job summary

Universal Electronics Inc. is seeking an experienced (Senior) Program Manager for a six-month interim assignment in Enschede.

You will manage the remote-control product category for a global market within UEI's Retail Business Line, translating requirements into concrete project plans and ensuring KPI-driven delivery. You will lead a global, cross-functional team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage budgets, and drive improvements with a hands-on, can-do mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or Electrical Engineering (MBA a plus).
• 5+ years in a similar role managing complex developments with software & hardware integration.
• Experience in international/global environments.
• Experience in consumer RF product development (HVAC, thermostat or Residential IoT OEM preferred).
• Knowledge of RF technologies (Zigbee, Wi‑Fi, Z‑wave, Bluetooth, RF4CE, etc.)
• Project management practices (PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA, Agile, Scrum).
• Strong leadership and mentoring in project teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to cope with stress and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced (Senior) Program Manager for a six-month interim assignment with one of our partners, Universal Electronics, based in Enschede.

The (Senior) Program Manager will be focusing on projects in our fast-growing Retail Business Line, managing the remote-control product category for the global market.

The Program Manager must understand and translate the (customer) requirements/ expectations into a project plan that the development team uses to develop and produce the required product. The Program Manager is accountable for planning, budget and cost control, as well as providing good quality of deliverables during the program development (KPI’s).

The Program Manager works in a (global) cross-functional team and operates as a respected leader. They must use excellent communication skills and leadership skills to address the diverse interests of internal and external stakeholders. The position also requires occasional travel and a "do whatever it takes" mindset.

Main tasks & responsibilities

• Good understanding of UEI products and technology so project plans can be controlled well
• Making estimated project plans during quotation phase
• Involved in new BIDS including customer presentations
• Managing programs after they are won until realization keeping KPI’s in mind
• Accountable for project Scope (statement of Work), Cost, and Planning after Project Development Kick Off.
• Interface between internal and external stakeholders
• Daily interfacing with distributed development teams
• Working with commercial teams on contract reviews, business case development, project status, etc.
• Maintain project checklist and project monitoring and chair Milestone Meetings
• Solving issues in interdepartmental discussions
• Take initiative to recommend and drive improvements and efficiency
• Support the implementation of new Program Management Processes
• Assist team members with complex projects
• Train colleagues on way of work / new technology
• Contribute to team and departmental goals

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer or similar; MBA is a plus
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, managing complex developments requiring software & hardware integration
• International work environment
• Experience in consumer RF product development. Ideally HVAC, connected thermostat or Residential IoT OEM experience is required
• Technical knowledge/understanding of electronic (RF) products using different radio’s is a plus (Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Z-wave, Bluetooth, RF4CE, etc.)
• Project management practices and development principles (eg. PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA, Agile, Scrum)
• Strong Leadership and mentoring skills and experience in (functional) managing a project team
• Excellent Stake Holder Management skills to manage expectations, timelines, delays, etc.
• Excellent (customer) communication and presentation skills
• Drive & ownership that demonstrate "whatever it takes mindset"
• Knowledge of consumer product lifecycle
• Able to cope with stress and deadlines
• Analytical and critical thinker

The Program Manager reports to the SVP Consumer Business Line.
