bol in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Product Manager for the Data Platform to lead the data platform products, visualization, and AI-driven capabilities. You will partner with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to define what good looks like, drive adoption, and deliver measurable commercial impact in a fast-evolving
‘Traditional’ analytics tooling was built for a world where humans ask questions and wait for answers. That world is changing fast and bol wants to be ahead of it. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who believes that agentic, AI-powered analytics isn’t a future ambition but a present-tense responsibility. Someone who wants to build the platform products that let every boller, from analyst to decision-makers, act on proactive insights before they even knew they needed them.
The Data Analytics Platform team builds and owns the platform products that every boller needs to find, access, visualise, and act on data for analytics purposes. That means the full stack: access and governance through BigQuery and Datahub, self-serve visualisation through Tableau and Looker Studio, and now the next frontier, agentic analytics that doesn’t wait to be asked.
What makes this role complex and genuinely interesting, is the organisation you’re building for. Bol operates a highly federated data organisation: dozens of product teams, analytics engineers, and domain experts who each own their own data and insights, but who all depend on shared platform capabilities to do it well. You’re not building for one team. You’re building for an ecosystem, and every product decision ripples across it.
As Senior Product Manager, you sit at the intersection of data platform products, visualisation, AI, and real commercial impact. Today, that means tackling challenges like a fragmented visualisation landscape, one that will become even more visible as our data catalogue matures, while simultaneously leading the product vision for how bol embeds agentic analytics into the workflows of hundreds of bollers. From advertising analysts querying their own data through natural language interfaces, to ecommerce teams automating the weekly rituals that currently eat thousands of hours of collective analysis-time. These are current examples in a world that needs context-enriched answers at speed. Your job is to build the platform that makes future use cases faster to ship and easier to trust.
In this role, you’ll:
This role requires a genuine appetite for breadth and ambiguity. You’ll be shaping visualisation strategy in the near term while laying the foundation for agentic analytics over the horizon, all within a federated organisation where influence matters more than authority. That means comfort with incomplete evidence, strong convictions held lightly, and the ability to make progress before all the answers are in. At bol, we learn fast, fail smart, and improve every single day. Previous experience with data platforms, analytics, AI or internal products is useful, but not a prerequisite. What matters most is evidence that you can discover the right opportunities, lead alongside engineering and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
At one of the best-known online retail tech platforms in the Netherlands and Belgium. A platform where 13.5 million customers choose from over 38 million articles. A platform that helps roughly 50,000 commercial partners run their businesses. And a platform that will never be ‘finished’, because bol has been reinventing retail since 1999, and we fully intend to keep doing so.
The Data Analytics Platform team sits within bol’s Data Platform group alongside Data Engineering Platform and Analytics Engineering , three teams that collectively own the data platform products, tooling, and intelligence that powers how bol understands and improves itself. You will land in a product organisation that believes data isn’t just a support function. It’s a strategic asset, and your job is to make it behave like one.
