Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Leiden seeks a Senior Manager, Process Engineering to provide technical and strategic leadership across complex manufacturing activities at the Leiden Center.

You will drive early and late-stage development alignment, implement scalable processes, and ensure quality and compliance while partnering with CPI and DSDP stakeholders. As a people leader, you will manage a team, oversee manufacturing strategies, and ensure robust documentation and effective issue

Qualifications

• Must understand GMPs and CMC regulatory considerations in pharma.
• Experience managing pharmaceutical projects.
• Knowledge of technology transfer and validation processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across levels.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource in process engineering areas and align to short-term objectives.
• Develop and implement tools, standards, and practices for continuous improvement.
• Represent Process Engineering on cross-functional CMC teams for late/early-stage development decisions.
• Lead manufacturing strategy for technology transfers and process validations with master plans and protocols.
• Build relationships with suppliers of materials, technologies, and resources.
• Evaluate process performance using statistical methods and lead improvement initiatives.
• Resolve complex manufacturing issues with data-driven and timely investigations.
• Support Leiden Center compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop staff with financial accountability.
