Job summary

Nexperia in Nijmegen, Netherlands, is seeking a Senior Principal System Engineer to define the next generation of Signal Chain products and lead system-level design across Automotive, Industrial and high-volume markets. You will bridge R&D, Marketing and key Tier-1 customers, delivering robust, manufacturable solutions.

You will own system-level optimization, drive technical decisions, and mentor engineers while collaborating with global teams to define roadmaps and ensure successful silicon

Qualifications

• Senior system engineer with 10–15 years in system-level semiconductor design, analog/mixed-signal focus.
• Proven ability to translate customer/market needs into robust technical solutions.
• Deep understanding of system trade-offs: performance, cost, power, and constraints.
• Experience as global, cross-functional interface between engineering, marketing and customers.
• Hands-on silicon bring-up, validation, characterization, and lab debugging.
• Strong analytical mindset and structured problem solving for complex decisions.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers in project settings.
• Preferred: Automotive/Industrial/High-volume consumer electronics domain knowledge.
• Knowledge of high-speed board design, signal integrity and transmission lines.
• Familiar with ADS, SPICE, and related analysis tools; understands I2C/I3C/SPI interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture for voltage translators and signal chain interfaces.
• Identify market trends and translate into new product opportunities and roadmaps.
• Translate customer requirements into clear, actionable specs.
• Collaborate with design, verification and test on power, area and cost trade-offs.
• Drive system-level optimization, risk management and technical decisions.
• Evaluate prototype silicon to ensure performance against requirements.
• Develop datasheets, application notes and user guides.
• Provide system-level customer support including schematic review and debugging.
• Act as primary technical interface for key customers and field teams.
• Lead technical reviews to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Partner with foundries and NPI teams to select optimal processes balancing performance and cost.
