Job summary

Valcon Nederland is expanding its Mendix capability, seeking a (Senior) Principal Mendix Consultant to lead multidisciplinary project and DevOps teams and own end-to-end delivery of scalable Mendix applications.

You will guide architecture, run workshops, influence design decisions, and contribute to pre-sales while mentoring colleagues. Our hybrid environment spans NL and Europe, with opportunities to coach others and drive long-term platform strategy.

Qualifications

Completed degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years as Mendix specialist with hands-on delivery.
Nice to have Mendix Expert Developer Certification.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
Based in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary Mendix projects and DevOps teams with end-to-end ownership.
Drive architecture, workshops, design decisions and ensure quality.
Coach Mendix teams and collaborate across client domains.
Support pre-sales and shape client proposals and proofs-of-concepts.
Help grow Valcon's Low-Code capability and standards.

What will you do?

As a (Senior) Principal Mendix Consultant, you bring together strategic thinking, platform expertise and strong leadership. You’ll lead multidisciplinary project or DevOps teams with full end-to-end ownership – from uncovering client needs to delivering scalable, future-ready applications.

You take the lead in workshops, architecture and design decisions, translating complex business challenges into impactful IT-solutions – ranging from mobile and workflow apps to data-driven and integrated platforms. Increasingly, you’ll work on solutions that leverage AI, smart automation and advanced integrations to unlock new business value.

Beyond delivery, you’ll play a key role in shaping our Low-Code capability. You help scale teams, raise engineering standards, and contribute to strategy, talent development and internal best practices. As a technical lead, you’re also actively involved in pre-sales, shaping proposals and leading proof-of-concepts for new clients.

Depending on your interests, you can further grow towards strategic client ownership, technical depth or mentoring responsibilities – always with the freedom to shape your own path.

Among your responsibilities will be the following:

Designing, developing and testing innovative Mendix solutions in an agile way.

Leading multidisciplinary teams and acting as technical lead in delivery projects: guiding architecture, workshops, design decisions, and quality

Leading and coaching multiple Mendix teams, sometimes across different clients and domains.

Tackling complex technical challenges and shaping long-term platform strategies.

Coaching developers and consultants to grow their skills and confidence with the Mendix platform.

Supporting pre-sales activities and helping shape client proposals and proof-of-concepts.

Strengthening our Low-Code capability through improved standards, best practices and strategic team development.
