Job summary

AspenTech, a global software leader, seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer to design, build and deliver power-system models using GIS data for utility grids. You will import GIS data, validate models and support advanced ADMS applications from client sites, collaborating with international teams.

Role focuses on modelling, data mapping, software-enabled grid management, and ensuring high-quality project delivery for energy networks. Travel to domestic/international sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Computer Science, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with electrical utility control systems (SCADA, DMS, DERMS) or experience working in utility operations or engineering support.
• Experience with network modelling: GIS maintenance, administration, and data entry.
• Database and data structure knowledge and experience (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS).
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with utility customers to extract GIS data and use DGM tools to import this data into the system to create a functional grid model.
• Take ownership of maintaining the network model and ensure data integrity.
• Configure and provide data for advanced ADMS applications such as Power Flow, Fault Location Isolation & Service Restoration.
• Translate contract specifications into project requirements and communicate them to internal teams.
• Deliver customer training and consult on power system modelling to maximize tool effectiveness.
• Create project and product documentation and perform unit testing and tuning.
